Air Compressor Regulator
Adjusting Your Air Compressor Regulator
Using an air compressor can make
completing tasks so much simpler. Making adjustments to the regulator is quite simple as well. Compressors come is
many sizes, from small and portable to so big it requires wheels in order to move. The biggest are single tanks
which are mounted so you can’t move them. Air pressures for every compressor differ as well, ranging between
100-1200 PSI.
Below are instructions on how to adjust
your regulator. First you need your compressor, an air nose, and air tools.
-
Plug your machine into the proper
socket. Most compressors come with a 3-prong cord, but some have a 4-prong. Be sure and use a 3-prong with
a 110 outlet. This is perfect for home use. A 4-prong cord is for use in 220 outlets. These types of
outlets are usually found in shops and garages.
-
Start the compressor.
-
Let the compressor get completely full.
-
Review the guide provided by the manufacturer to find
out if your tools can be used with your unit, after it reaches maximum pressure.
-
Hook the tool to your air hose, then air hose to
compressor.
-
Turn the adjustment knob counterclockwise to lower
pressure and clockwise if you want to increase it.
